John Bailey

John Rodrick Bailey born March 11, 1887 Sparta, Monroe, WI, died in Cook County, IL. He married November 26, 1912 in Chicago, Cook, IL to Beatrice "Birdie" Naomi Sheppard who was born 1890. She was one of the famous singing/dancing Sheppard Sisters (also known as the Sheppard Orchestra). Birdie died March 12, 1832 in Calumet City, Cook, Illinois.

They had one son, Charles Sheppard Bailey born September 26, 1918 in Harvey, Cook, IL and died March 28, 1932 in Calumet City, Cook, Illinois.

After Birdie's death, John remarried to Gloria Thurow on April 10, 1909 in Milwaukee, WI. They had one daughter, Joy Bailey Behm, who I had the pleasure of meeting several years ago. She graciously shared pictures of her father and mother as well as other members of her mother's family, the Thurows (see below). She told me that John lived in Round Lake, IL, for some time then spent the rest of his life in Chicago. She is deceased now.
